The cutest bear in the world is no longer endangered! What better way to celebrate than to see China’s national animal in person? A must when traveling in China! Find out what is the best way to see Chengdu pandas here:
In Chinese, the giant pandas are called, 大熊猫 (pinyin: dà xióng māo), which literally means “big bear cat”.
In 2015, the giant panda was downgraded from ‘Endangered’ to ‘Vulnerable’ thanks to the efforts of giant panda reserves. While the giant pandas can be visited at almost every zoo in China, we highly recommend that you make the trip to see them at their best in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province.
We suggest you see the giant pandas at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, where you can learn about the stages of panda development from birth to maturity.
On the day of your tour, you’ll have to wake up early as the pandas like to get an early start to their daily routine of eating, sleeping, and playing.
Later, you can chill out just like the pandas and visit spice bazaars downtown or hang out in People’s Park. You can even finish your day with a Sichuan cooking class. Watch out for the spicy Sichuan peppers!
For a fantastic experience, China Click Go has prepared a Giant Panda Classic Day Tour for your trip to Chengdu!
The cute little giant panda cubs weigh only around 100 grams at birth
