Tour Details
Day 1: Beijing (lunch)
Your guide and driver will meet you at your hotel's lobby at 8:30am to start the tour.
You will visit first the Temple of Heaven; The main temple used by the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties for annual ceremonies of prayer to Heaven. The Temple of Heaven is one of several worship sites in the capital where the emperors offered sacrifices to the gods. You will get a change to enjoy the local's morning exercise in the temple and are welcome to join them in the park.
Optional: add the Pearl market for some shopping
Later, you will stop at a local restaurant for lunch.
After that, you will continue to explore one of the world’s largest public squares — Tiananmen Square. Your guide will explain the purpose and use of the buidlings around the square and walk you through its history. From there you will enter through the South gate to the Forbidden City, which was served as the imperial palace for emperors and their households for more than 500 years. The Forbidden City was declared a World Heritage Site in 1987.
Then, take a rickshaw tour along the Hutong allayways to discover the life style of the locals.
In the evening, you will enjoy the amazing Chinese acrobatic show. After the show, you will be brought back to your hotel in Beijing.
Day 2: Beijing (lunch)
Your driver and tour guide will meet you at the hotel lobby at 8:30am and take you to the Lama Temple; One of the largest and most important Tibetan Buddhist monasteries in the world. Here you will see a huge buddha made by one piece of a white sandlewood tree.
Afterwards, we will go visit the Panda House at The Beijing Zoo on the western part of the city. Giant pandas is listed as one of the endangered animals in the World Conservation Union's (IUCN's) Red List of Threatened Species. There are about 1,600 left in the world and you will see a few here.
Then you will stop at local restaurant for lunch.
After lunch you will continue to the well-preserved royal garden, the Summer Palace. World-renowned for its beautiful landscape and spectacular architecture, the Summer Palace is listed as a World Heritage Site and considered as one of the most classical gardens in the world.
After the visit, you will have the chance to pass by the National Stadium (from the 2008 Olympic games) for photos before heading back to your hotel.
