Start your Beijing day tour with a pick up from your downtown Beijing hotel at 9:00.
Your first stop is at Lama Temple. Lama Temple is the most impressive Buddhist temple in Beijing. also know as Yonghe Lamasery, the temple was built in the 33 Qing Dynasty Kangxi year (1694) and it is now the largest and best-preserved Lamasery of Yellow Sect in Beijing.
Then, walk through a hutong allay to visit the Temple of Confucius. This temple was built in 1302, and government officials used it to pay their respects to Confucius until 1911.
For lunch, you can choose to either have a Chinese style lunch near the Lama temple or try the Muslim cuisine near the Niujie Mosque (included in the price).
Niujie Mosque is the largest of all the mosques in Beijing. It was first built in 996 during the Liao Dynasty (916-1125). The local Muslim community built the mosque by using traditional Chinese architecture, with the exception that it displays the Arabic calligraphy in the interior. It was originally designed by Nazaruddin, the son of a local Imam. After it was destroyed by armies of Genghis Khan in 1215, the Mosque was rebuilt in 1443, during the Ming Dynasty.
You will be driven back downtown and dropped off at your hotel in Beijing.
