What you can expect from this tour

Eat the best local food in the city at 5 hidden restaurants while enjoying unlimited beer and tuk-tuk transportation! Grill your own meat on open flames, discover local family-run eateries, wrap delicious dishes in freshly made Beijing pancakes, and finish with a pint of locally brewed beer.

Tour itinerary

You will meet your guide at a central location near Beijing's Lama Temple, get on your tuktuk, and begin to wind your way through narrow streets and alleyways in Beijing's hutongs. You will venture off the beaten path and have the opportunity to eat authentic dishes at restaurants frequented by locals. Missed by most travelers, these family-run restaurants are truly hidden gems.

Between stops, you'll be able to chat with your English-speaking guide about the city while drinking unlimited Chinese beer. At the four or five stops on the tour, you'll learn about the families who have been making these specialties for generations and discover what makes these dishes so special to Beijing locals.

You'll also have the chance to partake in creating some of these specialties. Grill meat on open flames, eat noodles in a private hutong house, fold delicious filling into dumplings, and more!

The tour will finish at a local brewery, where you can sample Chinese craft beer and be treated to a pint of your choice!

Fantastic tour, I do not think I would have the chance to taste so much local food if I would travel by myself. Come hungry as at some point I felt sorry I eaten a late lunch.

Me and my brother took this tour and it was great! Not only did we learn about local Beijing food but actually learned what is behind those dishes and great historical facts. I live in Shanghai so I understand how difficult can be to taste real local food, so as a visitor in Beijing I much appreciated that we were taken to all those delicious local places.
Food is more than plenty and we got beer all along our tour and ended the tour in local brewery and finally made it to taste good brew since I haven’t had one in a while. The whole experience is in a tuktuk and was super fun. Ruixi, our guide, was the greatest. She spoke superb English and you can tell she loves to do this and was super helpful all the time. Highly recommend it!!
