The Great Wall Under Water is a private day tour for you and your party. A unique & memorable experience of the Great wall of China!
Your English-speaking guide and private vehicle will pick you up in your hotel's lobby at 8:30 am. On the way to the Mutianyu Great Wall if traffic allows, stop to photograph the iconic "Bird's Nest"– the Beijing National Stadium, host to many spectacular events during the 2008 Summer Olympics. Once you arrive at the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall, you’ll enjoy a less hurried experience and take time to marvel at the wondrous structure and the surrounding hillsides that look north toward Mongolia. The Mutianyu section of the Great Wall is known for its beautiful surroundings - dense woods and rich pastures changing colors each season of the year. Afterwards, you'll head to a local restaurant for a delicious lunch. Following, you set out on a 30 minute drive to the Huanghuacheng section of the Great Wall.
This unique section of the wall will provide a bit of a challenge, as there are no stone steps or single, smooth path like at Badaling and other sections of the Great Wall. Huanghuacheng - "Yellow Flower City" - is named for the sea of yellow wildflowers that bloom in the late spring and early summer, giving sudden, exhilarating life to this aged portion of the wall. Seen from the dam of a reservoir, the stately, sunken wall is still visible under the water’s smooth surface. You will see much of the ancient structures as you hike along. The entire section of wall comprises of six forts, six passes, twelve beacon-towers, and thirty-two guard towers. The Great Wall Under Water a day tour will end around 5:30 pm, and you will be taken back to your hotel.
