Zhouzhuang is one of the most famous water town in China, noted for its profound cultural background, the well preserved ancient residential houses, the elegant watery views and the strong local colored traditions and customs. If you are interested -it would also be a great chance to try some local Chinese food.
Your guide and driver will come to pick you up at your centrally located hotel in Shanghai. The drive from downtown to the water town takes about 1.5 hours. You will begin your tour by wandering along the ancient canal. Then, heading to a local stage and there is a small collection of Beijing opera costumes. There are a couple of residential garden in the town which are worth a visit, such as "Zhang Hall" and "Sheng Hall" both of them were built in Ming Dynasty by the local rich family.
After the visit of the building we will introduce you the local flavored food on the street and it is be a nice experience if you are interested in Chinese food. In the end of the tour we will recommend a boat tour which is about 20 minutes to enjoy your private moment with nice view. Once your tour has come to an end, you will be transferred back to your Shanghai hotel, the whole tour takes around 6 hours.
